The weather….horrible….when
the Irish people tell you that it is cold (in that strong accent to which you
still have to get used) than you understand that the fact that you are freezing
and that you are MISSING the weather of Luxembourg (can you believe this??), it
is normal….13°C…to be exact!
Maybe this
is the reason why the Irish people are so fantastically kind….cold outside,
warm inside…;)..but well, this is also the reason why probably they all drink
at every hour….yes, because if in Italy one would say “let us meet for a walk”..here
the result would not be so nice…then “just go for a drink”…
So, my
first day I arrived to this small village in the middle of nowhere where the
day after there should have been a race…the people of the buses where soooo
nice, they call me a taxi with their phone, I had only 50 pound and they did
not have the change, so I actually travelled free…etc etc…well every one here
is so kind..
Sunset at Rostrevor (photo taken with the mobile..eh! ;)) |
Rostrevor is the name of the village and I stayed at the Fir Trees Bed and Breakfast …
Patricia e Martin great hosts, with a fantastic grandchild! :)
The race was the Active Financial Newry and Mourne Women’s Mini Marathon…..the route was fantastic, in the middle of the Mourne mountains, with sheeps on one side and water streams on the other, well..it would have been more enjoyable if it was no so cold, windy and raining…I worn the poncho brought for the Kilimanjaro…just to give you an idea!!! Very well organized…suggested!
The evening I missed one concert organized within the Fiddler's Green International Festival, as it was sold out, so I went for dinner to this fantastic place, the Kilbroney pub….and ….evviva evviva..there was some people singing and playing Irish music…they meet there every Sunday evening and in rotation everyone starts and the others just follow…so great and exciting! :)

the guy of the taxi (Zaks 07919992077) is fantastic...he also showed me where the bus stop was to let me save few pounds and not calling him for going to the bus stop at the centre...why I think that in Italy this would have not happened? ;)
